CMP Clinic & Match 2018

Posted by Raymond Goin on September 4, 2018 at 10:55 AM

Good morning all,

First off allow me to thank each of you who attended the Fall 2018 Foosland SC CMP Service Rifle Clinic with us 26 August 2018. We had a nice attendance of first time and return attendees.

8 came for the clinic and live fire morning session. All but one remained to fire the JCG 30 course of fire.

We had a dry but very humid central IL day and were lucky enough to enjoy a full day of marksmanship skill learning and match shooting.

Thank you Ray Goin for lunch and to our Foosland Club leadership for having two yearly clinics and matches.

The air conditioned club house was welcome.

Thanks to our CMP official David Geisselman for being our CMP trained officer, Wayne, Tom, for setting up the range along with our youth shooters Leighton and Xavier.

Coaches Ron M, Wayne O, Dave G, Chris V and David D for helping our live fire clinic shooters and at match time as well. Without out these volunteers we would not have as much assistance for our new to service rifle shooters.

Thank you for paying it forward!!

We had a mix of rifles on the line, some fine marksmanship displayed as well. Below You will see the scores from Relay 1 and 2

9 shooters in relay 1 and 2 remained for relay 2

* David Dehaan set a new club record using his WOA AR optic to fire a fine 296/14x.David was only 3 short of a clean OH score.

**Congratulations go out to Chris Vail who is the Match Winner firing his M1 Garand to earn a Gold Medal with a score of 280/3x

Chris was very excited to earn the gold medal as he should be.

Photos are attached of the clinic and match.

Feel free to share this email is the event I have anyone's email address incorrect.

We look forward to the Spring 2019 Clinic. Hopefully Jeff Porter will be back at the helm of this ship but I appreciate the opportunity to step up more.

This club clinic is why I am hooked on Across the Course Service Rifle Competition and have been lucky enough to fire local, regional, state and National Matches with some the best people and highest level of rifle skill in the world.

Very best to all, may all your bad shots be 10's,

Scott Schneider
